The "Barbarous Relic" is deemed "unsuitable" for the common folk to hold; only worthless fiat is good enough for them. No, gold and silver will likely become the restricted currency of the Powers That Be - held in "trust" (baahahahahaaaa!) and fiat doled out into the national economies.
