What makes you certain the MDL is a foregone conclusion I agree it is likely.
Due to:
Chose 2 lots where landowners are on board and will sell.
Chose spots likely to have no environmental issues
Checked with traditional owners and no known native title issues ie the farm clearing probably destroyed anything already anyway.
Council is on board supposedly as requested by Dept. Minerals
Looking more and more likely given the current bauxite market being challenging due to Malaysia dumping cheap bauxite see ABX current issues it's entirely plausible for QBL to ask for 800kt to shop around to find a long term Offtake partner.
