White marks on the surface and along the edge in the picture below are impurities. We can see that most impurities are along the edge.
Impurities like silica and aluminum are cut off in relatively big chunks when flakes are mechanically micronized for spherodization and are screened out by size. Impurities are are easily removed in green process as they are not embedded.
Our exceptionally thick flakes in the middle are full of juicy crystal microstructures.
