Due to a combination of the things you pointed out: excess capacity coming online (eg snowy 2.0 if it gets up); more solar, wind etc; more storage/battery capacity; more peaker capacity being built; politically motivated governmental attempts to regulate/ control price fluctuations.
It is just an opinion. I don't think it will remove price fluctuations and need for peak power plants but possibly reduce margins/prices.
