Well it was decided that the winner of this competition would be based on the gold price from the Shanghai exchange. I can't seem to find any data for yesterday (29th Dec) so I'm guessing there must have been a holiday in Shanghai.
The PM fix in Shanghai on Thursday 28th Dec was:
US $1302.61
AU $1669.95
So (I think) the winners of this competition are:
US Price: Goldmansach who predicted $1310.
AU Price: Bayview who predicted $1672.
