Charts aren't an exact science when it comes to price movements. Yet neither is fundamental analysis but they are both useful when making decisions to buy/sell.

Think of them like counting cards. If you took Rainman with you to the casino it wouldn't guarantee you to walk out a winner. But it would certainly increase your chances of profiting.
