PS: Don't forget to factor in:

Westpac revealed that its first-half results, to be released on May 4, would be affected by $3.6 billion in write-offs, including:

    • $2.2 billion — with most of it ($1.6b) due to an expected surge in coronavirus "new defaults", and
    • $1.4 billion (flagged two weeks ago), most of which relates to its penalty for the AUSTRAC money laundering scandal.
"Westpac appears to be increasingly pessimistic, and said it was "increasing the weighting applied to the downside scenario, reflecting a higher probability that economic conditions would deteriorate even further".
