    the market sentiment is the exact opposite of what you have suggested. Just look at the SP.

    Not sure the market agrees with your optimistic appraisal of the situation. in fact, I would say the market disagrees that WBC has it under control, especially at $17.76 and the fact it went down today in an otherwise upbeat market just indicates the potentially gruesome nature of the road ahead.

    Under Biden, Governance, risk and compliance along with regulation are going to become paramount not only in NYC but the rest of the world including Australia. Westpac’s tale appears a sorry one and the SP indicates they have not been addressing the governance, risk and compliance problem in the last two years.

    The market looks at the future and the indications are that it will get worse not better if you judge it from the SP and market sentiment.
