ok I worded that incorrectly. We are a highly inefficient nation in terms of overpriced wages, high energy, heavy government red tape and uncompetitive tax rates. You’re right nuts to setup a business here unless you have to, which is why global multinationals don’t. However in terms of our internal economy such as building, it’ll thrive under immigration. I don’t agree with mass immigration but it’s what both sides of the government want. Our economy will continue to expand significantly somllu from the internal economy and creating consumption from immigration (the highest in the OECD per capita).
in short, our GDP will increase as immigration does, and we could eventually be a top 5 global economy in the not so distant future.
