There is a fascinating GNC spreadsheet of confirmed and expected outbound shipping movements from various Australian east coast ports.

There are many ships that will call and load GrainCorp (shown as 'GCOP' in the table) wheat, barley or canola.

One ship ex Carrington (Newcastle NSW) should take 60500 tonnes of wheat overseas. Mammoth - about 20 train loads.

In December 2020, GNC expects to export 60000 tonnes of barley from Portland Vic by ship - the crop that mainland China placed a high tariff on that has the West Australians (major barley exporters) screaming - while 49500 tonnes of barley and 60000 tonnes of wheat should set sail from Geelong Vic.

100000 tonnes of GrainCorp-handled wheat should leave Carringtonm NSW in December 2020, while further south Pt Kembla (NSW) should have 60000 tonnes each of barley and wheat on board ships as GNC cargoes.

We can add from Fishermans Island (Brisbane Qld) in December 2020, 45000 tonnes of wheat plus a smaller but still impressive load of 14000 tonnes of wheat ex Mackay Qld, much further north.

So with a quick calculation, that's 388500 export tonnes for GNC in December 2020 alone, bearing in mind that at least a couple of ships should have left Carrington NSW by the end of November 2020.

The exports don't factor in Australian domestic demand that (to coin a bad pun) eats up some of the wheat and canola, though from memory far less of the barley.

This implies that already GNC has secured many forward sales.

Very encouraging for the share price and the next dividend.
