Agree, Specwarop, but the Monday 7 December 2020 GNC update continues with the good news.

NSW receivals rose in the week by 927400 tonnes to 7213900 tonnes, while Victoria's percentage rise was as one would expect greater (given its crops are always harvested later) with a jump of 613700 tonnes to 2068300.

Queensland is always first out of the barriers with harvesting, so as GNC says, final grains are 'trickling in', the rise only being 13600 tonnes to 951500 in total.

So the running GNC total receivals is 10233700, up 1.5547 million tonnes for the week, which means on a typical day, 222000 tonnes were received, or almost 10000 tonnes per hour (although no silos/bunkers are open 24 hours a day, so it's probably closer to 25000 tonnes per hour flowing in. GNC has about 145 non-port receival sites.

GNC also comments that southern NSW and Victorian crops are coming in nicely.

In the media a week or 10 days ago, a GNC employee predicted it would receive 12 million tonnes this winter harvest. That may be exceeded the way yields are going.

I have also read that weather for the much smaller sumer harvest (principally sorghum in southwest Qld and northwest NSW) has not been ideal thus far, but it may be early days.
