Peter's return to Perth was mentioned by Louis in his interview with Marc Kennis (Pitt Street Research) on 16 September 2020:

MK: Aspects of the technology that are you thinking about, potentially could be the next step in the iteration in terms of improvement, what's the areas that you can look at to improve the actual performance of the chip?

LDN: We've opened a research institute in Western Australia. Peter ... is now living in Perth, he's got a couple of post docs working with him there and he intends to add a couple more very quickly. His real effort now is on what are those next incremental steps and then what's that quantum step that we might look to going forward. So Akida dot two is well on his roadmap. I think you'll see improvement in learning rules, you'll see improvement in what we do in event based convolution, adding more features and therefore benefits ... as well as the learning rule that applies to once we get to that fully connected layer and we are doing incremental learning and all of the things that you can accomplish with Akida which early [?] architectures can't achieve. That's where Peter's real focus is.
