FF, for some reason I'm unable to reply to your post.

I've been contemplating the same thing for a few weeks and think there's a good chance that is happening. The truth is, the EAP customers don't need the new software to test Akida.
If you recall the presentation from the other week, Brainchip released slides showing the dynamic power consumption for multiple applications such as faulty bearing detection. If Brainchip don't require the new software to test their hardware, then they can definitely show other EAP customers how to do this without new software.
It makes sense that top tier EAP customers would pay a premium to stay out of the radar for as long as possible, giving them a chance for a small headstart on their competitors.
When Ford and Valeo's name were released early this year, I'm sure this would have driven home to competitors the importance of getting access to Akida or else risk being left behind. It also would have emphasised the need to stay quiet (possibly by paying a premium).You get what you pay for.
