The ASX stops trading of any stock that has risen significantly to ask the company if they know the reason why. Obviously this is only stocks moving with no announcement. The company will release a standard form saying they have no idea, and trading resumes. It’s designed to stop IT, leaks, etc.
What annoys me about it is they only halt stocks rising fast, if a company is dropping then they have no interest.
