The terminology in this area is all a bit interchangeable but from my research it seems reasonable to say that when DNN is used (Deep neural network) the criteria for the device or algorithm relies upon having at least three neural network layers. AKD1000 has three layers so could under this definition be included in a list of DNN's. If Renesas was seeking to keep things under wraps it would be a term they could use.
