If you make a study of Hot Copper as I have you will find that it is set up on a conflict model. It is perceived as being the best way to generate content having people engage in unintelligent even hostile debate. It is a common social media technique for increasing traffic.

Thank you FF. Really appreciate your reflections. So true. Imagine the result if the general was ralling up his soldiers to take on the enemy. The general commands: “On my signal unleash.....” only to be countered with the murmurs of “We’re all going to die”. Be enough to make one hesitate. I have been in so many meetings throughout my lifetime and in the large meetings, if you stand at the back, there is always at least one negative, miserable, ungrateful sad sod whispering “we’re all going to die”. It does no one any good.
