Akida Spot could be in development behind the scenes already. It will not be a matter of if but when. Boston Dynamics are a Google subsidiary with deep pockets & will want revolutionary cutting edge technology in their products.
This will not happen overnight & no information would be released until it was near ready for launch.
And if they plan on sending Spot on NASA missions then NASA will most likely require Akida in the design specifications for automation & guidance etc. due to lower power requirements & minimal parts.
