Just one reason for some of the trading patterns this week could be due to the fact that IG Markets have stopped offering CFD’s on 1100 ASX stocks (including BRN amoungst others). They gave their clients a week’s notice to get their accounts into 100% equity by 2pm today. They had quite a few clients in BRN that were forced to sell down a decent chunk of their BRN portfolio to cover their loans. This would have contributed to a bit of selling pressure during the week and today in particular. And they’ve got until the end of March to close out all their CFD positions entirely and buy FPO’s. So there will be a bit more shuffling of stock during March.
