Looking at the raw numbers can be meaningless as BarrelSitter has stated. Look at actual individual orders on CommSec at moment there are as you suggest 16 million buys but at the extreme end there is a buy order for one million shares at half a cent. Obvious this is a meaningless order for deciding how many real buyers are interested at ten to eleven cents.
