Just been googling all the major companies (household names) job advertisment boards. There are a fair few jobs going at amazon, samsung, irobot, Tesla, Ford, Intel etc in the US and other places for research scientist in AI chip production and evaluation. This suggests to me a growing interest in AI hardware (as opposed to brute force software coding) from the big players. However, they all seem to still be in the research phases. My understanding is BRNs software, akida and patents are scalable and are not necessarily edge only. They could be used in laptops, desktops and servers etc... but BRN seems to be channeling their efforts into a larger and more variable market segment of edge devices... this is genius in my opinion.
All of these job ads say must have python and tensorflow experience and the jobs seem very much geared towards testing and teaching existing AI chips. I might be reading into things a bit, but perhaps one of these companies at least has or is going to have our chip in their hands, test it for proof of concept and then get all their egg heads together to see how it can be used in their products. If this chip works and we have the patent, then its not a question of will we be bought out, but can they afford us.
One company that caught my attention is Habana labs which produces an AI accelerator chip and was bought out by Intel. They foresee AI chips being a standard part of a motherboard, like a CPU, GPU etc. For me, that is too narrow a market. We want our chips in every phone, camera, car, fridge, television, watch, security system, medical device, drone, satelite, manufacturing robot. gawd the list is endless.
This is why I'm willing to risk alot of money on this and ride the ups and downs. Its a 50:50 for me that it all goes smoothly, but if it does then the payoff will be much much more than double... you won't get odds like this at a casino.
When the chip drops and is working, it will be a brave new world. It won't be the internet of things, it will just be the intelligent things.
DYOR and JMHO etc...
