Coppers may recall several of my postings from a few weeks ago, suggesting world stock markets were demonstrating our pal Al’s ‘irrational exhuberance’.
The markets were accepting what was obvious sugar coating by G20 governments and many others, regarding the impact COVID was and will have on their economies.
I’ve been around long enough to have experienced all sorts of business conditions, but nothing compared to what lies ahead once the bandaids are removed.
The markets are obsessed with stimulus packages, including enormous levels of money printing, but eventually the penny will drop, and Tech’s forecast of where this will take the various indices are spot-on.
In saying this, I believe by the time things get ugly, the markets will have realised the value of our little battler, and it will be largely immune from the fallout - for those lucky enough to be on board, it’ll be our financial vaccine.
