Depends what you mean by "testing fails".

It is highly likley (IMO) that they might announce the chips require tweaking. For example if one of the I/O modules is flakey or too slow (due to fabrication flaws).

An outright failure (such as refuses to power-up or releases smoke) is not going to happen.

And the underlying design/logic has already been proven before fabrication.

What this means is that they might announce "pretty happy with results, but we just need to work through some minor glitches before we start full scale manufacturing. Might take a few months".- so that means they are on a normal development track and they will get there (i.e. nothing to worry about).

BUT!the share market will crucify the price.

For me this would present a huge buying opportunity - I am not holding enough and would gladly top-up at a lower price as befits my 3 to 5 year plan.

How will it pan out?

If I was betting on horses I would say 80% chance they will announce "all good", 20% chance "more work required."

However, that's a wet finger in the air guess.
