Just on the power thing I possibly made a mistake as to your level of understanding of how AKD1000 works by comparison with Groq so thought I better add some detail.

Groq intervenes between the source of the data collection point and the server. Groq as an accelerator will do some sort of pre-processing to compress the data or reduce the data and then send it to the server on the other side of its point of intervention. In some cases say in a motor vehicle the processor will then process the data and perform some action based on that data/information. A very simple task would be a headlight sensor which collects data about the light conditions and sends that data back to the processor which then processes the data and decides yes lights need to be turned on and then sends a signal to turn on the lights. An accelerator intervenes to increase the speed at which the headlight sensor data is moved to the processor to reduce latency.

A problem with any such system however is the fact that the distance between the sensor and the processor has to be bridged by some form of connection which is normally copper wire. Copper wire although it is one of the better conductors still has a resistance against which the sensor has to send its signal and the longer the wire the greater the resistance and hence time it takes for the signal to travel from the sensor to the processor and even when you put in an accelerator this distance from the sensor to the accelerator to the processor has this built in system latency.

Just on a side note in a Boeing 747 aircraft there is approximately 274 kilometres of wiring all of which is resistant and adding to latency and energy use throughout the system.

So one simple way to reduce latency apart from putting in an accelerator is to attach the sensor directly to the processor. However in a practical sense most cars have four sensors in the front bumper bar so having a lap top computer attached to each one is in every respect from space to weight to cost totally impractical.

Enter AKD1000 a tiny computer on a chip that can be directly integrated in to the sensor and receive and process and take action at the point of data acquisition without latency and at micro to milli watts of power. In my example above by looking after the motor vehicles lights completely at the sensor it also releases the central processing unit of the motor vehicle to do other things which require something more than AKD1000 can offer. The reality however is that if you can hand over enough of these edge functions to AKD1000 you can start to reduce the size and power requirements of the central processing unit because it only has to deal with its core functions.

My opinion only but I am sure if I have got some part of this wrong our resident engineer and patent expert BarrelSitter will correct me as will a number of others but DYOR.

Now, Fact Finder, really appreciate all your contributions on the BRAINIAC threads, am totally enthused with hotcopper postings, of all descriptions, particularly in regard to BRN, but you have to have a bit of a break occasionally, to recharge ones own internal receptors, with a drink or 2 of your favored poison, and just relax. I hope your finding some time to do this from time to time.
