@slbrownI believe that there are some weak hands involved. I think most of the weak retailers would be gone so it could be bad short term traders getting the stick.
I may sound like a conspiracy nut here but I think that it is more likely that the bulk of the loaned / borrowed stock is being used to manipulate the sp.
That is not to say that some are not making money & I am sure some do particularly if they are moving the sp in their desired direction I just cant see how the small profit is worth the risk.
A lot of the maneuvers can be seen after studying the trades for the day & comparing them to the charts. Then doing the numbers on the delayed short reports as they appear over the next few days to verify.
There seems to be more than one entity involved & looking at the numbers, some of those appear to be getting on the wrong side of the move more often than not.
Who knows really.
My assumptions seem right to me at the time I am making them based on the chart & the daily volumes, but in hindsight & after the shorts data is reported (sometimes days later)I can see that I have misread the situation entirely on some days.
I have to say though that my suspicions are mostly verified when the data comes in but that data is, imo often largely misreported or under reported as the numbers just don’t stack up.
Our day in the sun will come & hopefully they will all get burned.
