Indeed. Charlton in the Victorian Wimmera has had 7.8mm since 0900 hours yesterday (i.e. about 33 hours), while Horsham further southwest enjoyed 9mm. It's raining around Meringur in the Victorian Mallee early this evening. Nhill in the Wimmera has had 7.6mm while Hopetoun to its northeast experienced a little more, at 8.4mm.

Not exactly record breaking though. Victorian gorwers according to last week's 'The Weekly Times' wanted this rain (plus more) in May as the paper suggested yields are adversely affected if the season breaks in June.

In northwest NSW, Narrabri has had 7mm since 0900 this morning (plus more falling at 1830 hours tonight), while much further south, Condobolin has had 8.2mm, Forbes 10.6mm, Temora 12mm and Wagga Wagga 6.2mm. The latter looks as if it'll shortly receive a bit more.

NSW areas such as farflung northwestern Walgett - I have been there - and much further south, important Dubbo and Nyngan in the Central West and Narrandera in the NSW Riverina are forecast to have showers for the next couple of days. It all helps but AaronS76's caution about Victoria matches what the Vic rural newspaper opines (though I've yet to see the Wednesday 9 June edition).
