Thus far, compared with the last GNC weekly update on 11 January 2021 for the winter 2020 crop, the situation for the winter 2021 crop is:
NSW receivals of 7535570 tonnes are down 9.9 per cent on the result last year.
Queensland receivals are up 83.7 per cent to 1755320 tonnes.
Victorian receivals of 3575420 tonnes are up two per cent on winter 2020's effort.
Overall, receivals of 12866310 tonnes compare to 12824600 tonnes last year so it's a marginal rise on last year if my mathematics are correct.
I haven't gone back to the FY 21 annual report to discover what the figure became but irrespective, as Portsmouth reminded us, this is a terrific result.
Way above my inner urban, ill-informed pessimistic expectations. Just great!
Unless some unexpected massive Act of God occurs, GNC should be busy for the next year even if this year's 2022-23 crop is a complete disaster wracked by drought in the eastern states,
