It's rarely good to get ahead of ourselves, but the 'AFR' on Friday attributed the 13 per rise in GNC's share price on 26 March 2021 to a possible good winter harvest this year. A long way off if it even occurs.

'While farmers along the NSW coast count the cost, those further inland are celebrating what they are calling a “money flood”.

Moree farmer Dick Estens flew to the west of the town on Friday, where flood waters are now spreading across broadacre properties that suffered badly through the recent drought.

“It is what we call here a money flood,” he said. “It will be very slow moving and just now was about 30 kilometres west of Moree and spreading across the black soil plains.

“Flying out and watching those black soil plains soaking it up after years of drought was just a magnificent sight.”

Mr Estens said dams such as Copeton to the west of Moree were filling up along with on-farm water storage, and there was “money in mud” in terms of crop production and raising livestock...'
