This is good news. When LKE signs a contract it will be in US dollars and the Argentinians will want their cut as they should it's their Lithium. They license companies to extract it but it is their lithium. The Lithium companies need to sit down with the government and work out who gets what. We all expect Lithium prices to rise, its much easier to negotiate over a pie that is growing rather than one that is diminishing. Luckily our best negotiator speaks Spanish and can point to the benign environmental impact. Sovereign risk is a major concern in South America and foreign companies need to tread lightly.
