How high can this thing go? How long is a piece of string. When we were at 2.7 cents who could have imagined that we would go to $1.16 an increase of 43X (approximate). Various people/agencies put a figure on how high we can go but they are all just guesses based on assumptions. Stating that they are assumption clarifies nothing. What people who want an answer need to do is give a value to their assumptions (which is something that Suw and Fantasyboy do)
When we were at 2.7 cents the assumptions were that LKE would resolve its funding issues, that Lilac would produce battery grade results, that management were competent and honest, that the price of lithium would rise.
Our current assumptions are that the demonstration plant will prove successful at scale, that the lithium price will continue to rise, that the expressions of interest will result in near full funding, that the resource continues to be upgraded, that Argentina remains a good place to extract lithium and that the final results will show minimal fresh water use.
We have always had a large resource and a belief that DLE and reinjection would revolutionise the industry. When a company is turning an industry on its head there are always going to be sceptics. Tesla is a great example. Earlier this year its market cap topped every other car manufacturer combined. Many people even great investors like Michael Burry could not believe that the price of Tesla reflected reality. But it did and now we see a Trillion dollar company. Who saw that 5 years ago. Well some like Cathy Woods did and she went long on Tesla and argues that its a long way from over.
