Over the last number of presentations and events there has been no mention of BRN and cyber security ..

Heavily mentioned  last couple of years ago  with University of Thrace  and even prime time TV in greece about NASA BRN  Cyber security as well as on BRN web presentations. But not of late as such  ;WHY.....

During the interview that @Indepth put up today  A question was asked by one of the ppl on panel
Quote Is BRN working with Defence

Some ANN some not Is not Defence CYBER SECURITY ??

NSoC chip: Artificial Intelligence “made in Greece”

Every minute, $ 2.9 million is lost on the internet because of cyberattacks. In 2018 alone, cyberattacks cost the world economy more than $ 1.5 trillion dollars (source: RiskIQ). That is, less than Canada's Gross Domestic Product.

And if you believe that cyber attacks only affect Governments, Public Agencies, Banks and Businesses, you are deluded. Cybercriminals are targeting everywhere. That is to say to the citizens. Suffice it to say that hackers can even get instant access to our home. Through our Smart TV, as the FBI recently warned, saying that Smart TV could open the "window" for hackers to enter our home. The question is whether we can protect ourselves. That is, if there is an application, a tool, a software, that will block the cyberattacks from zero once they are launched.

What the team discovered from the Democritus University of Thrace

The answer to that is, not in a lab environment, but in real life, by a team of Greek scientists at the Democritus University of Thrace. The team consisting of Professor Lazaros Eliades and Doctor and Postdoctoral Researcher Konstantinos Demertzis created the software based on the development of the most powerful Neuromorphic Integrated Circuit, (Neuromorphic System-Known as NSoC) . A Neuromorphic Chip is a data processor inspired by the brain.

The word neuromorphic itself derives from the words neuro, which is defined as a relation to the nerves or the nervous system and morphic which denotes an object with a particular shape, shape or structure. These integrated circuits have the ability to analyze and interpret incoming data vectors and respond in ways that do not require specialized programming. An NSoC can approach biological human intelligence by performing actions similar to those that the human mind performs effortlessly, with high precision and, above all, with low energy consumption.

The research team from the Mathematics and Informatics Laboratory (NTUA2M) of the Department of Civil Engineering of the Democritus University of Thrace (Xanthi) created an NSoC software adopted by the larger Brainchip company and developed by Brainchip Integrated Circuit, named Akida.

    The agreement with BrainChip

For the development of this project, which has been widely publicized by foreign news agencies such as Bloomberg, BrainChip has entered into an agreement with the Hellenic Democratic University of Thrace, ELKE, to enable the signing of the confidentiality pact and the release of Founder and CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of BrainChip Holdings Ltd Mr. Peter Van Der Made was twice at the Hellenic University.

The agreement provides for the Greek side to provide cyber security expertise and to provide similar technology developed by Greek researchers in cyber security and critical infrastructure protection. Greek scientists undertook the transfer of the technology they developed, to the "Akida" environment, while the Greek side (via teleconferences) continued to communicate with the company's researchers on technical issues.

A New Age in Artificial Intelligence by Greek Researchers

Software performance has been tested in a number of modern applications by the DUI team and the most up-to-date high-complexity web datasets resulting from extensive research into how critical infrastructure operating and control systems work (SCADA, DCS, PLC, etc.). (aa) and fully capture the modern methods of cyberattacks.

This software has a high degree of accuracy and speed in recognizing modern attacks of various types such as: Bruteforce (Hydra, Medusa, Ncrack, Metasploit Modules, Nmap NSE scripts, etc.), DoS / DDoS (indicative of Heartbleed attacks). , LOIC / HIOC), Web attacks (SQL Injections, XSS, etc.) and Botnets (Man-in-the-browser, Crypto-Locker Ransomware, Cryptojacking, etc.) with remarkable intrinsic ability to Detect intrusions into networks or systems from attackers who have invaded the system or network and remain for a long time without being detected (Infiltration of the network from inside).

The software developed by the DUTH team (Eliades, Demertzis) is based on Spindle Artificial Neural Networks (SNN) without naturally limiting this approach. SNNs simulate the function of the human brain in the most realistic way) by converting input vectors into spacetime transmitted sequences of electrical signals.

And yet AKIDA is a profound tool for Security   ...But knowhere to be seen.  Or is it ...
