Since 9/11 around the world governments of all forms from totalitarian regimes to the most liberal of liberal democracies have been permitted to continually increase surveillance of their citizens for the stated purpose of ensuring the greater good of keeping us safe from bad actors intent on doing us harm.

The concept of this form of policing to some extent is not new even in the cornerstone of modern democracy England. The English ‘Bobbie’ with his regular beat and local knowledge was the affectionate reassuring face of a state caring for and keeping its people safe. He was the human face of the beginnings of the surveillance state.

The thing was though being human and powered by the human brain the ‘Bobbie’ won his community’s trust because he had the ability to turn a blind eye.

Every time you picked your nose or scratched your backside in the street if he happened to see it he did not record it and send it back to a data centre to be held on file for all time capable of being brought up fifty years later to prove something about your flawed character.

The ‘Bobbie’ only stored the important information necessary to keep you and your family safe and only made a record when some serious event required him to take action.

The surveillance camera was sold to communities as a way to reintroduce this form of ‘Bobbie’ on the beat who kept watch 24/7 but to the horror of many it did not come with discretion, compassion and commonsense. It recorded everything and stored everything for all time.

The return to a state where surveillance is undertaken with discretion and commonsense is made real by AKIDA technology. Anil Mankar at the Ai Field Day speaks of having the white list and the black list made possible by AKD1000 intelligence.

Those here who have followed the controversy surrounding SNTechology and the objections by US civil liberties to the installation of surveillance cameras in schools will know that it arose from the fact that their system to provide protection was going to record every child at the school all day every day against the risk that someone who should not be at the school was present.

AKIDA technology solves this problem by only recording the target or the target activity or object.

When police need to locate a suspect or a known offender AKIDA technology can search only for that person in a crowded location and when they are found only record that person.

In providing the Artificial Intelligence to do this on every camera AKIDA technology will commence to restore the type of freedoms that an unintelligent technological revolution has taken away.

It will define the difference between totalitarian governments like the CCP and those styled as democracies.

If this is indeed true, what a breath of fresh air... our mobiles have been tracking us to push retail consumerism down our throats for years.. i remember the creator of Quicker Feet excitedly telling me about how they could determine when i was within 400 metres of a Westfield, and pop and instore promotion of my favourite items onto my phone to draw me in... now called Supernova.
