….“What we are seeing in the market is that, like before, with the computer industry, if you look at the 1970’s, people were moving from using a mainframe computer to processing at the edge, in that we had a processor in our laptops and computers, desktops etc.

That same process is happening in artificial intelligence at the moment…you see people using large data centres….things like Alexa, they upload everything up to a large data centre, where it is then processed, and the results are sent back to the device.

That’s causing bandwidth problems with millions of units, we see that the number of units will increase very rapidly over the next five years, so they move data centres close to the edge…. these are still while the central data centres burnt billions of watts, the edge data centres are still using millions of watts, the next step was to move edge, go to the edge of the cloud, so that the devices that process and upload things to the cloud in a more decent manner, and what we are seeing now is that people are moving farther from the cloud and what we are aiming at is the Akida chip, is the advanced far edge, where the connection to the internet is not necessary at all.

Beneficial AI is an important part of our mission, the machines we are looking at is like medical applications, breath analysers for covid for instance, sensory perception of all kinds, and we can do this at very high speed and at extremely low power consumptions…..”

IMO, we are very fortunate to be aware of, and able to participate (financially), in a company with the revolutionary potential of Brainchip, at this stage of its growth.
