I agree Tech. Australia has been too slow to wake up to what is happening (eg Port of Darwin) but seems to have finally realised it needs to push back. Fortunately this seems to have coincided with other Western countries realising the same thing. Appeasement will not work ("peace in our time" ) and the parallels to the 1930's are frightening. China clearly wants our assets and our souls (look at Tibet, Uighurs, Hong Kong). unfortunately war is not just fought with the military these days but in cyberspace and with industrial espionage. BRN are right to be cautious as are we all.
