VAS for example is an index fund that tracks the asx300, they by definition will now be ‘forced’ to take a position in BRN by % of market cap in the 300. As BRNs value increases then more of someone’s dollars go to BRN through VAS or any other fund tracking this index.
I personally have a huge holding in VAS, makes me smirk a little knowing I have even more exposure to BRN. Fundamentally are we the greatest company, no.
Potentially are we the greatest company, absolutely.
I can’t help but wonder sometimes, does this have the potential to be CSL like, or the next big Australian like BHP? With the way the world is heading, we may need less iron ore and more silicon chips!
Thats my daydreaming for the weekend.
