Istronix began distributing BrainChip in Israel

Eastronicsreceived the Israeli contingent of BrainChip from California, USA, which developed an event based processing neuron processor and a comprehensive development environment. The company's hardware and software products, code-named Akida, have been released after more than 10 years of research and development. Previous generation AI solutions have a significant disadvantage: after the training process, it is difficult to teach the system new things without repeating the training process. Brainchip has developed an algorithm and chip that eliminates the need to transfer data back and forth to re-training, therefore enabling the customization of Edge AI devices.

The company was founded in 2013 and is considered a pioneer in the realization of an event-based neural network. It provides the technology through two possible business models: Akida Neural Processor IP – a spiritual asset for integration in the design of SoC AI, or akida Neural Processor SoC – an integrative neural processor with 1.2 million neurons and ready to be integrated into embedded systems for end applications. The company has a number of development centers worldwide (USA, Australia and France). It currently employs about 50 people and is traded on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).
