Recently you discovered an early work involving Peter van der Made’s invention being used to allow a small robotic vehicle to navigate a mountain trail autonomously.

I am sure many did not understand the significance of this or why in the fullness of time NASA would take an interest in the developed iteration of this original research project in the form of AKD1000.

The following is a paper published by NASA researchers on 11.1.21 where they report their results of trying (unsatisfactorily) to train a deep neural network of the type currently used in autonomous automobiles to allow a drone to navigate a forest trail to do search and rescue.

It is actually very accessible and easy to read as you can ignore the maths they include and just read the narrative.

It is very useful to understand what goes into trying to train DNN and what a revolution AKIDA one shot and incremental learning offer in this area:
