I think there is a tad of over-enthusiasm for Akida everywhere.
IBMs new Telum may not be a challenge for Akida at the far edge but it will be an interesting proposition for servers in the cloud, eventually.
IBM may have fluffed a lot of things over the last few decades, but like Intel they are doubling down on whatever part of Ai where they think they can win a share of the market, ie NOT at the edge.
Akida everywhere, but with some competition for vanilla CNN.
