Well I wouldn't think he would come out with the below statement if he was in any negotiations, no matter how early:
"What's next? No idea. The job/COVID interrupted any number of holidays/sabbaticals, so I expect a fair amount of downtime, and I certainly won't be rushing into anything full-on. I've never had a 'plan' in my career, yet things have tended to happen..."
He would have a perfect opportunity to announce both his resignation, and now engagement at BRN coinciding with an announcement from the company in one swoop, creating an immediate buzz. Any strategic CEO would do this IMO. As good of a fit as he would be, I don't think its him - happy to be proven wrong though.
Well I wouldn't think he would come out with the below statement...
