in this example you take a pre-trained imagenet model, drop off the last layer of the model and replace with a fully connected Akida layer

usually the last layer of the imagenet model would be outputting the class from the imagenet dataset

what this is doing, is utilising all of the weights from imagenet. So you feed an image in, as it passes through the layers it is generating spikes. The output is then learned by a neuron or neurons on the final layer, which becomes the new class.

existing CNNs are converted and edge learning can be added to them. The pre-trained networks are essentially spike generators for an Akida fully connected layer
