I did query this with Tony Dawe (Investor Relations) and he gave a very detailed reply on the issues surrounding an announcement relating to this. He did give me permission to post his response but I decided not to as I believe the reasons why some announcements are not made via the ASX has been discussed on many occasions before. From memory FF has tried to explain this several times and although it is frustrating the reasons are usually justified.
If you are genuinely concerned I suggest you contact him directly as he is very professional in his response and always willing to try and answer questions from investors.
