My two bobs on Loihi2; it has less synapses than Loihi 120 million compared to 129 million and far fewer per neuron - Loihi had 128k neurons that’s 1000 synapses per neuron whereas Loihi2 has something like 100 synapses per neuron. If they wanted to get serious about improving the chips capability for self/incremental learning then they need to have that ratio heading in the other direction. Akida has 10000 synapses per neuron. Memories have to be laid out for real learning to occur. Without the significant ratio it’s hard to imagine Loihi2 being serious competition for Akida.
