Just FYI, the Lava Software Framework that resulted from Intel's Neuromorphic Computing Lab is an open-source project with portions of the framework covered by the LGPL 3.0 and BSD 3-Clause Open Source licenses.
From the description, it is meant to be an abstraction that is platform-agnostic and should support a range of neuromorphic chips. I have not looked into its architecture, but a typical approach would be to support a modular design that would allow it to support more than just Intel's Loihi processor. This project itself still seems to be pretty fresh and the documentation (which can be found here) is still fairly incomplete.
I would imagine that if Lava becomes a more desirable platform (over Tensorflow) to develop applications for neuromorphic processors, it would not surprise me if either Brainchip enthusiasts would contribute to the project or perhaps Brainchip themselves allocate resources to contribute support for Akida and its line of neuromorphic processors.
It would definitely make for some good press too.
