It's great to actually see these featured on Tom's Hardware. The next stop should be on Linus Tech tips.
Linus recently showcased the ASUS IOT PCIe card in combination with the open-source Frigate (Network Video Recorder, or NVR), Home Assistant (which can run on a Raspberry Pi), and Double Take (processing and training images for facial recognition) in order to simulate a home setup that recognizes the individuals in a room. You can see Linus' video here.
They discuss some of the possible use cases for this type of setup in the video. I would be very interested in seeing how the Pi version of the Akida applied in this setup, as it looks like it could host the Home Assistant with the Frigate module and use its one-shot on-chip learning to avoid the need for providing the training set separately.
