I have a general question to those that understand the Akida PATENTs.

Q: When PVDM suggests that the Akida is 3 years in front of its rivals do the BrainChip Patents make it more and more difficult to copy the design and follow BrainChip into the future?
When I hear "3 years" in front of it's competiton, I'm thinking BrainChip are 3 years in front of any other chip that is the same as Akida, but am I right in thinking Akida cannot be copied till after the Patents expire thus no one will be able to develop a chip equal to Akida!!
I understand that others can develop their own chip but there should only ever be one "Akida Chip".
Hope this question makes sense.
