its never too late even its only half of what you wanted to invest and if you think the backbone of the company is worth coming along for the ride then you may have your answer.
If then it drops slightly you might have your answer to put the other half in.
End of day trust your instinct but most of all believe in what you are investing in. Its always hard to stand on the sidelines and you need to trust in yourself and be comfortable wtih your choices in life and your future.
