Elon wants his cars and everything else connected to his constellation of satellites, with 5G speed via the cloud. More money and power for Elon. One problem with this is, the cloud and servers will chew massive amounts of electricity, and green Elon hasn't got that figured out at all.
Then there is the problem of signal dropouts or losing sych with satellites, it will always happen from time to time for a variety of reasons, and is a really serious problem with Elons approach. As it stands taking Elons approach cannot give a 100% connected outcome, I don't think it is viable and I would be wary of buying any car which depended on this approach to running a full auto-pilot driving system.
Of course we are aware of a solution, which is of course Akida, my hope is that, stubborn Elon figures that AI at the edge will provide the answer to this dilemma. One shot learning and easy training are the killers. When will Elon learn, the sooner the better for mine.
