I have been a little puzzled by your assertion that you get the same data from stereoscopic cameras as you get from LiDAR data superimposed on standard camera data.
To some extent, we may have been talking at cross-purposes .
Can we clarify which of the following you are referring to as stereoscopic?
A. In the old days, stereoscopic meant two ordinary camera images taken from horizontally spaced lenses. Viewed through a stereoscopic viewer, the 3-D details emerged.
Then you referred to the ANU development which we discussed a few months ago about using a standard (CMOS) camera and a DVS.
B. The superposition of standard camera image data with DVS image data.
C. The superposition of standard camera image data and LiDAR data.
