Harsh but oh so true words BG. yes brokers are there to make money from you in fees and trades that remove cash from your account gradually or quickly! Many new accounts end up losing most of the funds originally placed. then close.
I mentioned an account i have where the Broker phoned me demanding I stop blocking their trades. Or else!
what was going on was they were dropping the SP by points/pips using only 1-5 shares in size. (BRN) so......I got pissed off after several hours of this and the SP being steadily wound back.
I countered their 1-5 share SELL trades immediately with my own 5 share size BUY trades. It was amusing and fun at the time! We kept this up for probably 30 mins before they called me with their demands.
I decided to stop because closing accounts and setting up again elsewhere was to much trouble. But I punished them (of sorts) by not using that account anymore for normal trading , just as a LTH account.
following month they called and asked why I was not trading frequently anymore with that account! lol. (account manager was losing out on fees)
and the fees they lost have been substantial $80k> lol
