Something else which we should note is the reference in Table 3 (page 8) to Renesas Dynamically Reconfigurable Processor (DRP). This is a distinct development from Akida dating from 2018 or earlier.

Most of the Renesas processors implementing AI which have been brought to our attention have used this in-house Renesas development ... but that may change next year. However, the current renesas-Akida licence only encompasses 2 nodes, so I don't expect there will be an immediate mass substitution of Akida for Renesas DRP-AI until a new licence is negotiated.
