This is an excellent question and not one which someone who has not been watching and listening closely to everything written and said by Brainchip since at least 2019 could easily answer by the DYOR tag. Great fan of DYOR but sometimes you do need a very hard to find starting point.
So this is my opinion as to what the answer is to your question:
1. When Studio and Accelerator were released to the market they both won awards but were so technologically innovative no one at the companies which might have bought them understood neuromorphic computing let alone Brainchip's variety.
2. This fact was a lesson hard learned so for AKIDA Brainchip had early access for a select group in 2018 and the feedback led to a rethink and redesign and a 12 month extension on the design phase to end of 2019.
3. Then Brainchip released the redesigned AKIDA Development Environment (ADE) to a select group of companies to play with while finalising the design for the chip with Socionext.
4. During this period Brainchip released the ADE to anyone basically who wanted to play with it and also released the IP to a select group of potential customers perhaps Renesas was one of these early IP customers.
5. Then we started to hear from the CEO and others at Brainchip that IP customers would probably be the first to sign up and that they were awaiting the chips and Boards to confirm what they thought the IP was capable of doing ie proof is in the pudding idea.
6. Then when the Boards went out the CEO said that Brainchip's engineers were working with the EAP's to assist them to implement the product be it the chip or the IP in the best way as they were finding the EAP's were not necessarily aware of just how to use or implement the product in the most efficient manner.
7. The thing to remember is that Brainchip's technology is ahead of its time and in consequence the engineers from Brainchip are not just showing how it works but teaching the EAP's engineers as well.
8. So while it might seem a little out of order the revolutionary nature of Brainchip's technology is such as to require it to be nursed all the way through product design and test before many of the EA P customers are comfortable. This was evidenced by the CEO's surprise and joy with how quickly Renesas moved to sign the unconditional commercial agreement. I well remember how he stressed the word "unconditional".
9. The stressing of this word said to me that there are other agreements out there but they are all conditional and hence not complete and available to be announced via the ASX.

Now having said the above once we have say a NASA type client vindicate the technology which is what I am sweating on personally then Brainchip can swagger a bit in its negotiations and say well I know what you are saying about you have never seen anything like this before but NASA has bought it and it works so sign on the dotted line no more B.S. it will work in your camera or sensor or vacuum cleaner ask NASA if you have any doubts. No doubt Rob Telson will refine that sales pitch somewhat but the present approach will evaporate with this type of validation.

Now this is my opinion only but it should give you a frame work to dig back through the announcements and webinars to confirm same by DYOR.
